TVOntario respects the privacy of its donors. TVOntario's Membership Department collects the names, addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses and, where applicable, banking or credit card information, from donor members and, sometimes, the names of their children.
It does so in order to process payments and pledges and to send donors the membership benefits for which they are eligible.
This donor information is retained in a database maintained on TVOntario's secure servers.
It may be traded with other charities, provided the donor does not object, and only once TVOntario has satisfied itself of these charities' privacy practices. Donors are given a number of opportunities to withhold consent through direct mailings:

TVOntario's servers perform standard logging which permits the collection of information on ISPs and the type of browser and operating system used. Logging also allows TVOntario to track generic information regarding total accesses to our site. When registration or the disclosure of sensitive information is required on this site, the transfer of data is conducted within a firewall and therefore secure from outside probes.
