This Privacy Statement discloses the types of information we collect, how it is used and to whom it is disclosed.
Personally identifiable information collected by TVOntario may include:
Only employees in the course of performing their duties and third parties contracted to provide services to TVOntario who require access to personally identifying information in order to discharge these duties or perform these services are granted access to such information. TVOntario only conducts business with third parties whose privacy practices are in keeping with TVOntario's standards.
TVOntario respects the privacy of its donors. TVOntario's Membership Department collects the names, addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses and, where applicable, banking or credit card information, from donor members and, sometimes, the names of their children.
It does so in order to process payments and pledges and to send donors the membership benefits for which they are eligible.
This donor information is retained in a database maintained on TVOntario's secure servers.
It may be traded with other charities, provided the donor does not object, and only once TVOntario has satisfied itself of these charities' privacy practices. Donors are given a number of opportunities to withhold consent through direct mailings:
Online pledges are made via a secure connection such that personal information is encrypted to prevent it from being read or intercepted by others.
If you wish to determine whether we hold any personal information about you and/or wish to access that information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call (416) 484-2739 if in the Toronto area or toll-free at (800) 613-0513 ext. 2739.
TVOntario's servers perform standard logging which permits the collection of information on ISPs and the type of browser and operating system used. Logging also allows TVOntario to track generic information regarding total accesses to our site. When registration or the disclosure of sensitive information is required on this site, the transfer of data is conducted within a firewall and therefore secure from outside probes.
